Budget Town Hall Meetings
The District School Board of Pasco County is currently in the process of balancing its budget for the 2012-2013 school year. At the moment, they are expecting a shortfall of over $25 million. That being said, they are holding 5 Budget Town Hall Meetings. The District is asking for feedback from all stakeholders, which include parents, students, community members, etc…
There is only one (1) meeting taking place near Zephyrhills High School:

Jazz Band excels again (now w/pictures)
On Saturday, May 12th, the ZHS Jazz Ensemble participated in the 1st Weeki Wachee Jazz Festival. The group received straight “Superior” ratings. In addition, the ZHS Jazz Ensemble took 1st Place ! Congratulations to those kids.

New band officers
At the recent band banquet, it was announced that the 2012-2013 ZHS Auxiliary Captain is Katie Mathis, and the Asst. Captain is Victoria Castillo. The rest of the squad includes: Tracie Reese, Sydney Knebel, Christina Lorenz, Christina Welch, Reauna Hinkal, Breeanna Wieck, Cierra Cole and Sarah Evenson.
I am now announcing that the 2012-2013 ZHS Drumline Captains are Zac Winters and Norman Ward.
In addition, we have the results of today’s drum major auditions. I was thrilled with having so many students audition. All of them did an excellent job. The 2012-2013 ZHS Drum Majors are Tim Manning & James Riggs.

FBA State Concert MPA
On Thursday, May 3rd, the ZHS Symphonic Band received “Excellent” ratings at the 2012 FBA State Concert MPA! These kids worked extremely hard and I’m very proud of them. Congratulations! 
FBA State Concert Music Performance Assessment
On May 3rd, the Symphonic Band will be performing at the FBA State Concert Music Performance Assessment. It is among the highest honors a band can receive to be eligible to perform at this event. Our times for this event are:
8:30 am – Students meet in Band Hall (dressed in bibbers, black socks and shoes, and their band t-shirt), after checking into their 2nd Period Class.
9:00 am – Load Bus
9:30 am – Depart for U.S.F.
11:00 am – Watch Fivay H.S. perform
12:00 pm – Lunch in the U.S.F. Marshall Student Center (we may be joined by the bands of FHS and JWMHS)…..bring lunch money!
2:30 pm – Warmup
3:00 pm – State Performance !
3:45 pm. – Depart for home
4:30 p.m. – Arrive at Zephyrhills H.S.
